Youth League Report Round 12

U12's defeated Apia 3 - 2

U13's defeated Apia 2 - 1

It was a beautiful Saturday morning at Lambert Park to play our old rival Apia.
The under 12’s had a good win to set the standard for the 13’s to follow.
Apia set their team in a more defensive structure trying to counter the best attacking team in the competition.
The first half of football was outstanding with both sides playing good football across the park.
Our team were passing well and we looked very threatening on a number of occasions but were unlucky not to get a goal or two.
At half time we went to the sheds with a nil all result.
Terry reset our structure and we came out looking like the winning team for the second half.
Our boys continued to defend well and build up some very good attacks.
We scored a great goal with a build-up down the left side.
They countered with a quick recovery and it was 1 all.
The St George boys continued to attack and had Apia on the defence again.
We got a penalty and it was put away perfectly.
Apia had no answer to our continued attacks and we were unlucky not to score 3 more goals.
A very good win for the boy’s and we now sit on 35 points, 7 points ahead of second place.
