SAP write up

“The value of synthetic  fields was certainly highlighted on the weekend as the scheduled SAP games were able to proceed against Fraser Park FC on a newly laid synthetic  field at Fraser Park.

You would hardly know that we have had any rain this week.

Despite a fortnight disappointing training cancelations at Barton Park due to the rain our U 9s put on a very courageous performance yesterday against Fraser Park FC. Both our blue and white teams had many scoring opportunities  but failed to find the back of the net. Whilst our opponents where more successful in this regard  the second game proved to be a very exciting and evenly matched contest with only a single goal being scored for the entire 40 minutes.

Our under 10’s continued their impressive form with a very convincing first game performance that saw them dominate possession, field play and bag a swag of goals. The second game was a much closer contest against a very strong opposition. Both teams where evenly placed with a final last minute goal tipping the balance in our favour. A very exciting and genuine contest that was highlighted by great individual skills, team work and determination.

The under 11’s had mixed results which saw them struggle in the first game to control and distribute the ball. As a result we had very few goal scoring opportunities. Our second game was more positive with our team dominating passion and finding the back of the net regularly  without conceding a goal.

Hopefully the rain will ease up and we can we can get back to our regular training venue and routine.

Next weeks game is against Bonnyrigg White Eagles at St George Stadium.”
