U16's Lost 1 - 2
After two narrow and frustrating losses, the team went into their third game in 7 days with high hopes and expectations. Saints faced Fraser Park who themselves were looking for a much needed win.
Having shown character and determination as in previous weeks games Saints started the game the more positive attacking early with a number of raids and eventually being rewarded with a goal after a great strike by Shaqil (The Shaq Attack) following a flowing back line move. The game progressed into a tussle between the teams with some fiery exchanges seen in the midfield. Eventually fatigue and frustration resulted in a St.George own goal midway through the first half followed by another Fraser Park goal resulting from a corner.
Heading into half time down 1-2, Saints come out in the second half again attempting to play their attacking brand only to be denied by Fraser’s goalkeeper.
A Fraser Park counter which resulted in a questionable penalty against us, arguably offered the game’s highlight with Saints goalkeeper Joey again showing off his ‘Panther’ like reflexes and instincts saving the penalty and keeping Saints in the game.
Following numerous attempts on the opposition goal and with the Saints injury toll rapidly rising, the game ended up in an arm wrestle between the teams with the final score 1-2 in favor of Fraser Park.
U18's Won 3-1
