St George v Lady Hawks

Our girls and women’s teams put up a strong effort against Lady Hawks on Sunday, and while we may have lost all grades, it was only by the barest of margins in the U12s, U14s and U16s.

Tahlia Hanslow got the goal for the U12s in a close 2-1 loss, while it was Marissa Nicopoulos who netted for a similar result in the U14s.

There were seven goals in the U16s but unfortunately, we went down by the odd goal again, but a double to Jessica Burgess was the highlight. Mention must go to Carla Smith from the U14s, who stepped up a grade and still scored for the Saints in the 4-3 loss.

The women’s teams found it a little more difficult, Gemma Brennan being the lone scorer in a 6-1 loss in the reserves with Alana Humphries and Jessica Carosi each found the net in first grade in a 4-2 loss
