St George and Sutherland Shire Leader Charity Cup

St George FC took out the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader Charity Cup on Wednesday night with a 2-0 win over their local neighbours, Sutherland Sharks, at Seymour Shaw Park.

The Leader Cup, an annual event played to raise funds for cancer research, and now in its fourth year, was claimed by the Saints for the first time.

An own goal by the Sharks' Tyson Rhodes put St George in the lead midway through the first half. Blake Ricciuto made sure of the win, connecting with a header from a corner, with about ten minutes to go.
