The St George Football club would like to congratulate a local referee on an outstanding achievement. John is the local branch coach of the St George Referees and has coached a very good crop over the years. Please read below. Football NSW Referee John Parker has won the NSW Sports Federation ‘Officials Contribution Award’. John has developed, established, conducted and presented practical and theoretical training programs for young match officials. He has been responsible for the progression of a large number of officials; from the grass roots ranks into the upper levels of football officiating in both NSW and nationally. John has been responsible for NSW match officials being selected by Football Federation Australia largely through his training, coaching and development and it is this contribution that has placed him at the very forefront of referee education in Australia. He has contributed in a unique and positive way to the overall development of some 4000 officials through the programs he has developed and presented all while running his own private sector business.
