The Youth League Report (Division One Youth League) Round 9

Club Championship Table frontrunners Fraser Park cracked the triple figure points mark when they pocketed all the points from their visit to twelfth placed Hills Brumbies while second placed Sydney University bagged thirteen points from their trip to Stanmore Hawks who have slipped back one place to ninth. Camden Tigers retained third place despite taking only four points from their home clash with fourth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers and Rockdale City Suns remained at fifth when they earned ten points at home to eleventh placed Springwood. Hurstville City Minotaurs are still sixth after they earned nine points from their visit to seventh placed Hakoah while St George moved up one place to eighth thanks to the ten points they took from their visit to tenth placed Gladesville Ryde Magic Grade 13 While there was no change in the pecking order in this round, the gap between the second and seventh placed teams was reduced from six points to four points and that is sure to make things interesting in the weeks to come. Fraser Park extended their lead on the competition table from four to six points when they were 2-0 winners over fourth placed Hills Brumbies while second placed Rockdale City Suns were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw by Springwood who dropped back one place to eighth. Mt Druitt Town Rangers are one point further back at third after they played out a scoreless draw with fifth placed Camden Tigers and sixth placed Sydney University edged closer to the top five when they posted a 3-0 victory over twelfth placed Stanmore Hawks. Hurstville City Minotaurs remained at seventh after they recorded a 3-0 success over tenth placed Hakoah and St George are still ninth following their 1-0 result over eleventh placed Gladesville Ryde Magic. Grade 14 The change of competition leader this week has served to ensure that the table has become just a bit tighter. Last week there was a margin of eight points separating first and ninth positions and seven days later that margin has been reduced to seven points. Placing a bet at this stage on the final composition of the top five would be a very risky wager indeed. Fraser Park moved up one position to take over the lead on the table by two points when they were 4-0 winners over twelfth placed Hills Brumbies while Camden Tigers slipped back to second when they suffered a surprising 2-0 loss to eighth placed Mt Druitt Town Rangers. Sydney University skipped from fifth to third with a stunning 5-0 result over Stanmore Hawks who have slipped back one place to fourth and Hakoah climbed one place to fifth when they registered a 2-0 win over Hurstville City Minotaurs who have slipped back two places to sixth. Rockdale City Suns remained at seventh after their 4-1 victory over eleventh placed Springwood and St George are still tenth following their 4-0 success over tenth placed Gladesville Ryde Magic. Grade 15 There are only four points between the top three teams and then only six points separating the teams from fourth to eighth. That should be enough to keep us guessing for at least the next few weeks. Fraser Park have retained both the competition lead and their margin of two points thanks to their 3-0 win over eleventh placed Hills Brumbies and Rockdale City Suns are still placed second after they were 2-0 winners over Springwood who have slipped back one place to eighth. Hurstville City Minotaurs climbed one place to third with a 2-0 result over Hakoah who have dropped one position to tenth while Stanmore Hawks dropped back to fourth after they lost 4-1 to Sydney University who have jumped two places to sixth. Camden Tigers remained fifth when they registered a 1-0 success over Mt Druitt Town Rangers who fell back one place to seventh and Gladesville Ryde Magic moved up one position to ninth when they drew 1-1 with twelfth placed St George. Grade 16 A few surprising results this week have meant that there has been no change to the overall situation which has every team on edge. As was the case last week, there are only eight points separating first place from tenth place. Sydney University have extended their competition lead to four points after they were held to a scoreless draw by Stanmore Hawks who have tumbled from third to fifth while Hakoah held onto second spot despite their 2-1 loss to Hurstville City Minotaurs who scooted up two places to sixth. Fraser Park climbed one place to third when they were 2-0 winners over twelfth placed Hills Brumbies and St George went from fifth to fourth with a 2-1 victory over Gladesville Ryde Magic who slipped back two spots to ninth. Mt Druitt Town Rangers move up one position to eighth when they were 2-1 winners over Camden Tigers who slipped back one place to seventh and Rockdale City Suns remained at tenth thanks to their 2-0 success over eleventh placed Springwood. Grade18 The leaders have established a handy buffer but then there are only eight points separating the teams from second to seventh so you can be sure that everyone will be paying very close attention to the scores for a few weeks yet. Sydney University made it nine wins from as many games and they still lead the way on the table by six points following their 4-0 victory over Stanmore Hawks who have slipped back a place to eleventh while Mt Druitt Town Rangers moved up one spot to second when they were 5-3 winners over Camden Tigers who dropped back to third. Fraser Park remained at fourth when they came up with a solid 5-0 result over Hills Brumbies who slipped back a place to eighth and Gladesville Ryde Magic climbed one place to fifth with a 4-1 victory over St George who dropped back to sixth. Hakoah moved up a place to seventh when they were 2-1 winners over twelfth placed Hurstville City Minotaurs while Springwood rose from eleventh to tenth thanks to their 3-0 win over ninth placed Rockdale City Suns.
